World Down Syndrome Day falls on March 21 every year. People with Down syndrome have three - one more than typical - copies of chromosome 21, this is why "321" represents Down syndrome. The cafe, which currently employs over 50 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), is celebrating this global awareness day at both its downtown Raleigh and Durham locations.
