Position Title

Coffee Cart Shift Manager

Part-Time: 6 - 20 Hours Per Week; Weekend Availability Required

Locations:

321 Coffee - Coffee Cart: Various Locations in Raleigh/Durham

Job Summary and Mission

321 Coffee is a coffee shop and roaster built on inclusion. We aim to provide meaningful work experiences to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We believe in doing business the right way, and we’re looking for someone who shares this passion for inclusion and belonging.

321 Coffee is growing, and we are seeking an upbeat, caring, proactive doer to champion the 321 experience at events outside the shop locations through the 321 Coffee Cart. The Coffee Cart Shift Manager role is for someone who loves variety and action, enjoys building relational connections through providing an excellent mobile coffee experience, and dives into the cart's day-to-day operations. This manager will help lead coffee cart events, ensuring operational success and creating a fun and inclusive experience for all in order to grow the 321 Coffee presence in the community. 

The Coffee Cart Shift Manager will also be trained and able to run shifts at other 321 Coffee locations. 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • General Responsibilities

    • Ensure the Coffee Cart is set up, operated, and closed down properly at each event

    • Restock inventory and prep items after the event

    • Take orders and help prepare excellent drinks and products throughout the event

    • Ensure work safety and cleanliness of the coffee cart and surrounding area

    • Keep the cart running efficiently by anticipating any needs

    • Create a welcoming environment for guests and our team

    • Engage enthusiastically with others to share the 321 Coffee mission

    • Deliver outstanding customer service that elevates the event the cart is a part of

    • Maintain a high standard of customer service and product quality

    • Serve in the on-call rotation

  • Staff Management:

    • Confirm and communicate with the Coffee Cart baristas before events

    • Provide leadership, direction, and feedback to the Coffee Cart baristas

  • Other duties as assigned by the Company

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to move water tanks weighing up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to push/pull 321 Coffee Cart (weighing up to 500 lbs) equipment into position

  • Ability to load/unload the 321 Coffee in and out of the van with proper equipment

  • Ability to drive the 321 Coffee company van

  • Ability to maneuver self in and out of the van to load equipment

  • Ability to operate commercial machinery

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Eager to learn new skills and request help when needed

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lead and build confidence in a diverse team

  • Engage with customers and provide outstanding customer service

  • Attend required shifts and maintain punctuality

  • Ability to use and troubleshoot point-of-sale technology

  • Ability to learn and use Google Suite products and 7Shifts scheduling software

  • Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or experience in the food & beverage or customer service industry is a plus

  • Ability to work weekends

Compensation

$17.50 an hour + tips (previously between $3.00 - $6.00 an hour)

Benefits

  • Full-time employees are eligible for paid time off, paid sick time off, and health insurance.

  • Part-time employees at/over 30 hours per week are eligible for paid time off and paid sick time off.

  • All employees are eligible for a free drink each time they work.
