Meet 321 Coffee barista, Aaron, as he walks through our method for the perfect batch of cold brew.

Supplies

Mesh Strainer
Cheesecloth
Pitcher, Jar, or Similar Container for Brewing
Scale
Grinder
Coffee
Water (filtered, if possible)
Large Spoon

Ratio

12 oz. of coffee to 3 quarts (.75 gallon) of water

Grid Size

Coarse

Step 1

Weigh or measure the desired amount of coffee. If you don’t have a scale, 1 tablespoon of coffee beans or ground coffee is about 5 grams of coffee.

Step 2

Grind the coffee to a coarse consistency and add the ground coffee to the container for brewing.

Step 3

Measure the desired amount of room temperature water and pour the water into the container over the ground coffee, evenly saturating the grounds.

Step 4

Stir with a spoon.Let steep for 18-24 hours at room temperature.

Step 5

After steeping, line the mesh strainer with cheesecloth and strain the cold brew into a new container to remove the coffee grounds.

Step 6

Mix the filtered cold brew concentrate with an equal amount of water to make a classic cold brew. The concentrate can also be mixed with milk. For example, 6 oz concentrate mixed with 6 oz. water makes 12 oz. of cold brew.

Step 7

Enjoy your fresh batch of smooth, bold cold brew!
